Main Street West Memphis has been hard at work making positive changes in our community, and we have exciting plans for 2025. Here are just a few highlights of what we’ve been up to and what’s on the horizon:

​

• Community Events: We host popular annual events that bring our community together. Mark your calendars for our exciting Delta Domino Tournament in March, fantastic Food Truck Fest in May, our delicious Taste of the Town event in August, and Business Expo in November. These events provide outstanding opportunities for networking, community engagement, and supporting local businesses.

• West Memphis Musical Heritage Park: We are actively working to transform the vacant lot at the corner of East Broadway and 8th Street into a vibrant addition to the West Memphis Musical Heritage Park. This project will create a valuable community space and further celebrate our rich musical history.

• Infrastructure Improvements: We are thrilled to announce that we partnered with Kimley-Horn engineers out of Memphis and have been awarded a $153,000 Arkansas Department of Transportation grant. This funding will support a Vulnerable Road User Safety Assessment and a Pedestrian Master Plan to be conducted in 2025, ensuring safer and more accessible streets for everyone.

• Recent Accomplishments in 2024: We’ve made significant strides this past year. We replaced the outdated banners along Broadway with 22 new banners showcasing musicians with ties to West Memphis, adding a touch of local pride and artistry to our main thoroughfare. We also revitalized the iconic former Federal Compress water tower with two new logos featuring our Main Street West Memphis electric guitar, a symbol of our commitment to our musical heritage.
