PARCEL IMPROVEMENT GRANT

ABOUT
The grant is intended for commercial and nonprofit properties and is a 50/50 matching award, meaning grantees can receive reimbursement for half of the project(s) cost up to $5,000. For example,

Project X costs $7,000. You pay $7,000, and MSWM reimburses $3,500 (half) after project is finished.

Project Z costs $15,000. You pay $15,000 and MSWM reimburses $5,000 (max) after project is finished.

Exterior: Windows, Doors, Lighting, Roof, Awnings, Paint, Signage, Parking Lot, Green Spaces, other
Interior: Flooring, Plumbing, Electrical, Paint, Ceiling, Lighting, Dry Wall, Other
BEFORE YOU APPLY

Business or property must be located on or within a block of Broadway Street or Missouri Street.

Applicant must be a current BAMWM member. Memberships start at $100 per year.

Invoice with Quote (not estimate). Note: All quotes must be submitted on letterhead from a company that is certified, bonded, and licensed with the City of WM.

“Before Pictures.”
Once the above documents are turned in, the BAMWM Board of Directors will meet to approve, disapprove, or suggest changes to the project and application. If approved, you will receive a Letter to Proceed from the BAMWM executive director, and work can begin on your project. (Any work done before receiving the letter will not qualify for reimbursement.) If disapproved, you will receive a call from the BAMWM executive director with advice on how to best alter the proposal for resubmission.

In 2024, Main Street West Memphis helped Pugh Partnerships and Groovy Greyhound with wall painting, beam staining, and lower floor metal window paneling so that the new, bottom windows matched the historic ones on the second story.
