Taste of the Town is...
...a COOKING CONTEST between LOCAL EATERIES (restaurants, food trucks, caterers, etc.) and our largest fundraising event of the year. About 400 people pack the big, white, air-conditioned tent in the Southland Casino parking lot.
There are between 12-15 food vendors who provide sample-sized portions to patrons as they visit their 10x10 booths. Venders can serve any dish they like.
There are three categories: Sweet, Savory, and Crowd Favorite. A panel of secret judges in the crowd selects the Sweet and Savory categories, while all participants get to vote for Crowd Favorite.
Each category winner receives a trophy, $250, and major street cred!

How It Works

Provide about 400 sample-sized portions of a dish of your choosing

A group of secret judges choose Sweet and Savory winners, while all attendees get to vote for Crowd Favorite

We provide 10x10 space with two tables and table clothes. Each booth will have two electrical outlets for warmers, coolers, etc. You provide food, plates, and plastic wear for your dish.

All cooking must be done off-site, but food can be prepared/assembled at your table/booth

Decorate your booth/table, be creative, and HAVE FUN!

Make sure to hand out business cards and promote yourself!
